fractured touches

sleep lies under these eyes
silken lies woven into lullabies
sung softly through the wind
the trees
sway softly
under her touch

she sheds her skin
under the fluorescent, dull grey sky
a wry,dry smile wraps in her white blanket
with a cold soft sensual breeze

a fresh reveal of pink

and she shows me more
and she knows me more

broken fractured touches
is all we are given

prairie snow

im watching it come down
blowing acros the road
across the coals
and its cold

im watching it come down
across the prairie sky
street lamp shine
little diamonds in your eyes
every time you smile
and im watching it snow
i wonder if our dreams
come and go
i wonder if they become
like the prairie snow.

the grassland

grassland personifiedit moves
waves
seduces the dry earth
caresses dirt breasts that heave
sigh
and roll into the sky

red diesel scar
cuts
drains her of gathered tears
from the harsh winter

another winter
she survived
waiting for the spring
waiting to be remembered
waiting for her potential.

we are her dust

and God breathed
