Don’t say

Don’t say
its time to go
the road is long ago

don’t say
we need to rest
unkempt hearts, stolen like graves
silent on the mortar.

don’t say goobye
before your ghost said hello.
don’t say I love you
running from the phone

words form on the swollen
lips bitten
tongue speaks rage
and is quiet.
